TGIF!! Hope you and yours had a very happy and spooky Halloween! I had a wedding rehearsal last night, so I went as a wedding planner. Ha.
I may have mentioned before that I spend quite a bit of time in yoga pants and other workout related attire. Is that because I'm a maniac with my fitness routine. Noooooo. It's because they are comfy. And easy. But it's fall, my favorite time of year to shop, and I'm obsessed with this look seen on the enviously fashionable Olivia Palermo:
Seriously cute, and oh-so-fashionable. And don't they look a teeny tiny bit like workout pants? :D
What's on your fall fashion wish list?
Have a great weekend!

White Denim Duds
I am SO ready for spring and the change of wardrobe that comes with it. More specifically, I'm ready to pull my white jeans out of the closet. I love my white jeans, and I feel dramatically more pulled-together wearing white than when sporting regular ol denim.
Some looks I'm planning to rock over the next few months:
Because spring is so transitional in Los Angeles, I can still pull off sweaters, but pairing them with white jeans makes them feel fresh.
Classically chic (and I would do almost anything to have her hair!).
Another Classic Look - chambray button-down with white jeans. So crisp!
This feels a little more dressed-up to me - good for client meetings or drinks out.
This feels like dinner with my honey - and I may just wear this look Friday night as we celebrate our one-year anniversary!
Happy Monday!

Closet Confession
Do you ever have one of those days when you open your closet and feel like you have nothing to wear? Absolutely. Nothing. I'm having that day - only it's been going on for about 3 months.
I thought with the arrival of fall my fashion woes would be cured as I'm partial to cooler weather clothes over summer duds. However, 2 problems: (1) Southern California has yet to get the memo that fall is here to stay (80 degrees today) and (2) even in the evenings, when it is cooler, I still am not digging my clothes.
And here's where the confession comes in: I don't think I really know how to dress and accessorize myself. Oddly, and in my humble opinion, I recognize great style (and not so great style too), and I Pin the heck out of cute outfits. But, when it comes to actually putting outfits together for myself, I get a big ol' F for Fail.
I think the root of the problem lies in a couple of different places. First, I don't shop in outfits, I buy pieces. I think the key to "outfits" is buying all of the whole ensemble at once. Secondly, and I know this issue plagues women of all shapes and sizes - I'm not happy with my size, and tend to think "when I lose weight, I'll look better in this..." Sound familiar? And, to be a little fair to myself, my life has changed drastically over the past few months - going from a corporate work environment that I enjoyed dressing for, to working from home, where yoga pants and pj's are the norm.
I'm literally so disgusted with my closet right now that I'd like to take everything to Goodwill tomorrow and start over. However, that's really not feasible or a good idea, so I'll continue to wear my very comfortable yoga pants until I figure this whole "style" thing out.
What about you? I would love to hear how you shop and how you "style" yourself.
Happy Monday!

Make it Work Monday
Another Monday, another beginning. I do like a good Monday, but I absolutely prefer Friday! Today it is rainy and very chilly here in Los Angeles - a layers kind of day. I've been in and out of my trench all day, and am looking forward to an evening filled with reluctant doggie walks in the rain, making dinner with my sweetie, a crackling fire in the fireplace, and watching our Christmas lights twinkle.
Sounds like a recipe for a nice Monday...

What I Wore.....
...for today's BIG end of year meeting/gathering. Everyone puts their best foot forward (and by foot I do mean shoes) for this meeting, so I'm sporting Calvin Klein's Olive pump in black patent, this fun yet classic bag by Dooney and Bourke, and red nails.
Time to party!!

Make it Work Monday!
Do you ever have those days where you really don't want to get dressed, but have to anyway? I had that day this morning, trying to figure out something warm but comfortable that would also allow me to wear comfortable shoes today. A warm fuzzy sweater seemed just the right answer. I did manage to do something with my hair, but I chose the entirely wrong shoe and my feet are cold, but the look is good! Sometimes a little comfort has to be forfeited for fashion, and today is one of those days!
Happy Monday!
